Is An MRI Scan Advisable For A Person Suffering With Seizures?

My Aunt had a series of seizures and is in icu under hyperthermia. She had an echo which showed her heart was weak. She has had a CT scan but no MRI of the brain as of yet. She is on a ventilator and they will start warming her up in the morning and do another EEG. She has a history of seizures and is a diabetic. But, these seizures she had were back to back and then she coded. So far, they are saying that the CT scans are normal. Should they be doing an MRI?

Hello,

Hypothermia can be cause of back to back seizures. If NCCT brain is normal then no need to go for MRI brain but get her EEG done to rule out any cerebellar dysrhythmia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
