Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have low BP. I get a lot of salt and potassium in my diet. I take florinef. My aldosterone is 2. Is that low? I cannot find anywhere what normal is. Renin is a little low and Testosterone is sky high. TSH is low. Still waiting for cortisol level to come in. Thanks
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
If taken aldosterone level while laying down, the lower limit comes 3ng/dl. If standing or sitting, the lower levels come to be 7ng/dl. 2 is low in both the situations. Renin is also low.
It seems to be a kidney disease behid all that. You need to consult an Endocrinologist and a Nephrologist for complete evaluation and treatment.
Endocrinologist will also cover the issue of low TSH levels and low Blood pressure.
Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
