Is An Indentation On The Head Post An Injury A Concern?

I hit the top corner of my head on the corner of my cabinet door kinda hard......there is a small dent about the size of my finger tip now. I heard a sound when it happened it sounded like “crēēk” .....don’t know if it was the door moving across my hair line or what......my head only feels sore in that one spot .....it did not knock me out....but it did hurt.....do I have any need for concern over the dent.....should I wait a while before going to sleep....it is bedtime that I done this....

Hi,

You didn't mention anything about the bleed or wound....?

If there is NO any abrasion or laceration at the injured area and as you are saying there is NO history of loss of consciousness(LOC) or headache. Then relax down, nothing to worry much.

But if the indentation is deep more than 5 mm then consult a general physician by tomorrow morning.

As you are saying there are NO any complaints or symptoms after the injury so it is considered not an emergency.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah
