Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My doctor diagnosed an itchy bump on my back as a possible histiocytoma and said I should see a dermatologist and have it removed. From what I read, none of my symptoms seems appropriate for that diagnosis. I am currently scheduled to see my dermatologist on July 12 for outpatient surgery. It s been this way for several months. Should I be concerned or do something different? My doctor said this was very rare and he had never seen one before. Thank you in advance.
There is no medical cure for histiocytoma and the same should be excised under local anesthesia and get the biopsy done for final histological diagnosis ahead.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
