Is Anal Cancer Possible In A Woman With Positive HPV?
I have been diagnosed with hpv 16 and had a biopsy. I do not know the results yet. my husband and I engage in oral and anal sex regulary, what are the chances of us developing oral and anal cancer? And should we stop having them? Worried and confused..
Hello dear, As you diagnosed with HPV, it is human papilloma virus. HPV transmission occur through vaginal sex, anal sex and oral sex. Infection with HPV is a high risk for developing following cancer: cervical cancer vulval and vaginal cancer anal cancer penile cancer laryngeal cancer tonsil cancer
so obviously as you are HPV positive, you have high risk for oral/ throat and anal cancer through oral and anal route. So please do extra careful during sex, you can use condom to prevent them. Also do vaccination against HPV.
Hope this may help you.
Best regards Dr. Sagar
