Is Angioplasty Needed For Angiogram Blockage?

My father is 75 years old. He had a chest pain a week back and went to a normal clinic, where they took an ECG and said there is a slight variation in the ecg report, and asked him to go to a cardiologist with the report. But my dad went to his cardiologist only after 4 days. They took an echo test and said he has had an attack, the troponin T was 4.67. then an angiogram said there is a block. but the consulting doctor said that administering medicine is enough becuase he has not been taking medicines. He also said there is no need of angioplasty. Please comment on the doctors remarks please.

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The decision for angioplasty depends on the degree of obstruction (usually 70% or more / extent / technical feasibility / associated morbidity / overall clinical picture and so on…
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Good luck
