So, generally when they bite somebody or leaves a scratch, generally we do not recommend anti-rabies vaccination. Generally, for cats and dogs, antirabies vaccine is validated for six months. Contact your veterinary doctor for it. If the animal is vaccinated, your husband does not need an anti rabies course. Otherwise, its safe to get anti rabies vaccine and immunoglobulin if required.
