Is Anti-rabies Vaccination Required For A Dog Scratch?

I was joggin with my dog... My dog was a stray dog, but I believe it belongs to someone becuase he´d a collar. Well there is a dog nearby that was sick I believe, it looked really bad, and all of its hair fell out. So that dog bit my dog but there was no blood and I cant see a scratch. So I don´t know wheter this dog is vaccinated or not... What should I do? I mean, my family don't have money to get him vaccinated... Should I worry?

Rabies prophylaxis is recommended for all types of pet. Rabies is a fatal disease with 100% mortality rate so it is better to vaccinate your dog with rabies vaccine. Once rabies develops there is no cure. Vaccination is the only preventive measure available. So give priority to your health rather than money. Rabies vaccine provides immunity to rabies for one year. So vaccinate your pet every year. Rabies can be transmitted in dog fight but one of the two dogs must have rabies.
