Is Anti-tetanus Vaccination Safe For A Rat Scratch?

Hi, is a rat scratch dangerous? At about 3pm yesterday While coming down our stairs outside our house, a rat came from nowhere passed me and i had a slight scratch on my right wrist. I immediately put on alcohol and just didnt mind it. However at about 8pm my children knew about it and brought me to an Animal bite clinic. I was injected with an anti tetanus vaccine and another vaccine at that. Am i safe now?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The anti tetanus vaccine and another vaccine (which would be most likely anti rabies vaccine) are 2 most essential therapy to be given after rat scratch. Adequate wound care has also been done and so there is no further threat to you for sure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
