Is Antibiotic Eye Drop Safe For Red And Swollen Eye?

My 5 year old son was playing outside in the dirt last night. He got a lot of dirt in his eye and kept rubbing it in instead of leaving it alone. We bathed him but it was still red. This morning it is red, irritable and puffy around the eye. I have an antibiotic eye drop called Tobrex (sp?) prescribed for another younger child. Is it okay to use it on him?

Hi
Tobrex will definitely help. Use 4 times at least.
Better to use with Lubricating drops.
No rubbing of eyes now onwards.
Use clean white soft cotton cloth for cleaning.
