Hi I am a female aged 25. i just found out today i am 5 weeks pregnant via B.HCG. Its my 1st time. & i used clotrimazole 2% w/w vaginal cream for my yeast infection, will this affect my baby. i read on the internet that it may not be safe to use in the 1st trimester
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Yes, you can read many thing online however, it is considered by professionals that Clotrimazole is considered safe for use during pregnancy. There have been no reported birth defects and clinical study has revealed no such possible defects. So I dont think you should not use it especially if you have symptoms of yeast infection which may be harmful if left untreated. This cream is not absorbed into bloodstream and dont reach placenta. Also it doesnt cause systemic effects on your body or baby's.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health.
