Is Arthritis Related With Reccuring Pain In Wrist And Hand?

I have this reoccurring pain in both of my wrists, usually in my left. My dominant hand is my right, so I don't think it's from constant use of the left. I want to know if it could possibly be arthritis and/or if there is anything that can be done about it.

I have studied your case and i think there can be two type of causes for this type of pain.
1. It can be due to arthritis. In this pain is due to cartilage damage. This is not common in wrist unless you are also having pain in other joints also.
2. Most common cause is nerve related like carpel tunnel syndrome. It causes pain in hand due to nerve compression. Pain is electric like and it can be confirmed by EMG/NCV test.I would recommend you to take Pregabalin and Methylcobal for this pain. i would also suggest you to apply splint in both wrist.

Hello,

I have studied your case.
Due to compression of nerve root there can be pain in wrist more on left.
Also there can be large disc bulge which is compressing over spinal cord.

For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.
Till time, avoid lifting weights. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give you relief.

Another possibility of carpal tunnel syndrome which can be diagnosed on MRI and after clinical examination.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
