Is Arthroscopic Surgery Recommended For Prolonged Arthritis?
Thanks for your reply. You have said that surgery is the only remedy in my case. My Dr. says he wants to avoid arthoscopy surgery as i have been having arthritis in my knee for over 10 years and this type of surgery may cause more problems with my arthritis. Please advice.
Yes,athroscopy surgery can be done in prolonged arthritis for symptomatic relief.
Arthroscopy is one of the most commonly performed procedures to help and diagnose problems in the knee and shoulder, including arthritis.
It's a minor surgical procedure and performed on an out-patient basis.
Generally,it may cause almost nil or very minor problem which are the procedure related side effects. So no need to be worried about it.
However,if you are taking pain killers like indomethacin and if it is working well for pain management then thee is no need to go for invasive procedure like arthroscopy.
Consult an otho-pedician for further advise.
