Hello, Your doctor has prescribed your baby azithromycin whcih is an antibiotic mainly used to treat upper respiratory tract infections (URTI).Apart from using antibiotic some cough syrup should also be used for symptomatic improvement. Better than the syrup you have, you can take a syrup containing bromhexine hydrochloride 4 mg, guaiphenesin 50 mg, chlorphenamine maleate 2 mg/5 mL You can give him 2.5 m of syrup 2 to 3 times a day. Hope this helps.Thank you.
