Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 70 year old friend who has a hospital aquired bacterial infection and am trying to find out what the success rate is in curing this infections. He has been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks at a neurological clinic but I am not sure how often he is being tested to see the status of this infection.
Hi, Thanks for asking. I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Yes, bacterial infections are curable. 2. I am not sure about the location. What ever the location, if a sample is taken and culture and sensitivity done, appropriate antibiotics can be identified. 3. Once identified, appropriate treatment can be given. If it's localized and abscess is formed, incision and drainage will be helpful. More details necessary for further opinion. Any further queries, happy to help again. Dr. Prakash HM
