Is Bacterial Infection Curable?

I have a 70 year old friend who has a hospital aquired bacterial infection and am trying to find out what the success rate is in curing this infections. He has been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks at a neurological clinic but I am not sure how often he is being tested to see the status of this infection.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Yes, bacterial infections are curable.
2. I am not sure about the location. What ever the location, if a sample is taken and culture and sensitivity done, appropriate antibiotics can be identified.
3. Once identified, appropriate treatment can be given. If it's localized and abscess is formed, incision and drainage will be helpful. More details necessary for further opinion.
