I have bad breath which I thought was due to Rhinitis which is what my doctor diagnosed, but i have swabbed the back of my throat and my tonsils and there is no smell, but when i spit into a tissue, i can smell it. I have tried all the different toothpastes, mouthwashes, mints, etc. According to my dentist, my teeth are in "tip top condition". I am also using a neti-pot with saline water twice a day as I had read the smell could be coming from my sinuses. any ideas?
Hi, thank s for your query. In my opinion, I also feel bad breath can be because of chronic sinusitis. Neti pot will definitely help you. Continue it. Apart from that treatment for chronic sinusitis can be surgical clearance off the sinuses. This would give you permanent cure. Empirically I woukd suggest you to take antihistamines with mucolytics for 15 days. If symptoms persists then surgery would be the best option. You can discuss my views with your doctor. Hope my answers have helped you.
