Is Being Angry And Moody Post Laparoscopically Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy A Sign Of Hormone Imbalance?

I has a LAVH with both ovaries removed. I have not had any night sweats or hot flashes so I have not taken HRT. However, I find myself feeling very angry and moody. Is this a symptom of hormone imbalance and an indication that I need to take the HRT?

Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The sudden loss of ovarian function can cause acute symptoms.
Also please consider the role of surgery as it can be a factor for mood irritability.
Consult an obgyn regarding the use of anti anxiety medicine.
if still no relief consider short term hrt.
Thanks.
Dr Bhagyashree.
