Is Betamethasone Dipropionate Clioquinol Diproform Cream Available?
I m trying to locate where can i purchase this betamethasone dipropionate clioquinol diproform cream. It s Schering- Plough and contains 500 mcg betamethasone deipropionate and 30 mg clioquinol. Is there such a cream or ointment out there. I bought this in the Philippines few years back and now I can t find them anywhere? Maybe you can help me. Thanks.
Diproform is a combination of a steroid (betamethasone) and an antifungal (clioquinol), and if you can't seem to get it where you are, there are many other options available on the market. Similar combinations would be like betamethasone/clotrimazole, econazole/triamcinolone or miconazole/hydrocortisone.
However, do take note that if you are having long term skin problems like eczema or psoriasis and such, plain steroids on their own like betamethasone, mometasone, or hydrocortisone is the treatment of choice. The combination creams are for flare-ups or if you have a suspected fungal infection, and is not meant to be used long term.
Hope this helps, please let us know if you have further questions.
Regards, Dr. Teh
