Is Betnasol Injection Necessary After Normal Lft And Bile Acid Test?

HI , I am 25 yr old 30 weeks pregnant. I have developed rashes and itching on my hands, legs and stomach. My doctor advised me to undergo LFT , Bile acid and Varicella IgG and IgM test. My LFT and Bile Acid results are normal. However I have not received the Varicella test results yet. Doctor also suggested for inj Betnasol 12 mg, Please advise if this is still necessary if the LFT and Bile Acid test are normal.

Hi,

Rash is a symptom of varicella and very harmful to fetus and has detrimental effects on child, so it is better to get varicella done in order to screen for any abnormal outcome, if any arising from the infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Digant Sharma, General & Family Physician
