Is Bifid Crease On Nose Heriditary?
Yes I hope so. My older brother is 70 yrs old. My daughter is 26 yrs old. They both have a large bifid crease on their noses. Is the condition hereditary? My brother has a grandchild who has downs syndrome. Should my daughter seek genetic counseling before having a child in case of a better chance of having a downs syndrome child? I ve heard the condition is a genetic defect.

I really appreciate your concern, yes of course this is gene related appearance of course you can see the genetic counselling but this can not be prevented if this is going to happens and this is not always possible that such genetic mutation take place every time in all the new born babies, neither this is such anomalies which could be detected in sonography, hope this information helps, take care.
