Hi, when I was taken liver function test every thing is normal except the level of bilirubin it is 3.0 and then I have contact the doctor and accordingly taken tab. Udiliv for 15 days then it was shown normal and after 5 days when test was taken it shown 2.5 now I hav undergone Anti HCV , HsbAg , LFT, scanning of abdomen . Everything is normal except bilirubin which is 2.6 now and in scanning it was shown as right prominent renal pelvis may I know the reason why it is shown like this and what it results in...thank you
High bilirubin levels with other liver tests and examinations within normal levels is very likely due to Gilbert Syndrome. In this case, there is a genetic disease where a liver enzyme is in deficient amounts and it is generally not a serious condition. Generally, no treatment is needed and there is nothing to worry as long as all the rest of the tests come out normal and you feel well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
