Is Black Eye Normal On Hurting Different Part Of Head?

I fell and hit my head, right temple area, slight bump and grazes, two days later the whole area around my right eye turned black, and I look as if someone had punched me square in the face. I have not been nauseous or sick. Is it normal to get a black eye when I did not hit this area of my head?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you was hit on your temple the formation of bump is due to soft tissue injury causing inflammation and hematoma formation due to ruptured blood vessels..
There can also be due to accumulation of inflammatory exudate, cells and damaged muscle fibres and blood vessels..
The "black eye" is due to blood accumulating in the soft tissues around the eye from ruptured blood vessels secondary to trauma and as the blood will disintegrate the blackness will gradually fade..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil or Aleve, do cool compresses over the forehead and around the eye..
You can apply an antimicrobial ointment over the grazes for preventing infection.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
