Is Black Stool Along With Severe Stomach Pain And Hepatitis-C Causes For Concern?
I have very very black stool. I have severe stomach pain I have hepatitis c and thought it could be worsening but my stool has never been like this. I have been sick for a long time. Is having black stool be something I should or shouldn t be concerned with. I can t pay. Can you please give me an answer
Dear Sir/Mam. Black stool along with abdominal pain is highly suggestive of an ulceration in the upper gastrointestinal tract causing bleeding for your esophagus/stomach and this blood becomes black with bad odor when it passes through your intestines. In the setting of Hepatitis C the main concern is that you have cirrhosis along with esophageal varices that might have ruptured and causing this bleeding. An upper GI endoscopy (Eosogastroduedonoscopy) is needed in your case to make the diagnosis and treat an bleeder if present. This might be severe and need an urgent intervention. A full evaluation of your liver function is also needed in order to detect the effect of hepatitis C on your health. This situation should not be underestimated. Get well soon. Best regards
