Is Bleeding Along With Cramps Usual When Going Through Pre Menopause?

I am 43 years old and was told that I m going through pre menopause. I ve been on birth control for approximately 2 years to regulate my cycle and for the benefit of hormones. For the last month I have been continuously bleeding/hemorrhaging. I am also cramping badly in which I have not had cramps since decades ago. Is this to be expected? Should I be worried?

Hello,

It is quite common during menopause.

As of now, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding,

If symptoms persist better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
