Is Bleeding In Ear With Little To No Pain Cause For Concern?

When I woke up this morning there was a small amount of blood crusted in my ear. I cleaned it out the best I could and there seems to be no more coming out. There is little to no pain and I can hear fine out of the ear. Should I wait a few days and monitor symptoms before being too concerned

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Try to identify from where blood came.
Was it from outer ear or was there damage to your tympanic membrane? Did you have any head injury?
It seems that there is not much need to be worry at present. When bleeding is from external ear canal without other signs and symptoms, you can wait and monitor for some time.
Recurrent episodes of bleeding, discharge, ear pain, loss/ decreased hearing
requires to be examined.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Wish you good health.
