Surely yes, the middle ears are connected to the nose through the Eustachian tubes which gives ventilation to the middle ear. But at the same time when one gets any problems in nose, pharynx, sinuses or so then the middle ear may be affected causing buzzing in the ears and redness. It can also cause a feeling of blockage, pain and heaviness.
I would advise you to consult and ENT surgeon. Get clinical examination and CT scan of nose, sinuses and the mastoids. This will help to get an exact diagnosis and thus help to have proper management. This also helps to know about the bony lump in eat and have a plan of its treatment. Till then continue nasal decongestant drops, oral antihistamines, anti-inflammatory medicines. Do not blow nose and do not instill anything in ears unless suggested by your Doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
