Is Blood Clotting Disorder Hereditary?

My son has just found out that he has a blood clotting disorder that was passed on to his three children. He has a sixteen year old daughter that had to have a kidney removed last year because of a blood clot to her kidney. My question is this a disorder that comes from both parents?

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
There are different types of clotting disorders.
Most of them hereditary.
In some one parent may be affected , in some ( autosomal recessive ) both parents may be apparently normal. Only blood tests can reveal if they are carriers.
Do complete workup
Wishing good health
