Is Blood In Semen During Masturbation A Concern?

Hello! I am 32 years old I have noticed blood in my semen today. while masturbating, my semen was light red. What to do now? Can i have normal sex or should i avoid it? How does this affect quality of my semen, as me and my girlfriend are just planning to make another baby? Does this affect my fertility?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

An appearance of blood in semen in terms of light pink tinge, can be part of infection of prostate or seminal vesicle of your system. Though it will not affect your fertility at present stage, chronic untreated infections can lead to fertility problems. Rather than panic, I would recommend to consult your doc and get a lab report of semen for best diagnosis and treatment (as this is curable by precise antibiotics for a particular period of time). I would recommend to avoid sexual intercourse till that time to avoid further issues to partner or you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
