My friend was having big blood clots in her stool, and then she was trying to pop a zit on her face, her face over a very short period of time became all puffy, she went to the hospital, gave her 3 days of iv antibiotics, now they say she has a heart infection, and a blood infection. Hi,
Your query is understandable as having puffy face or passing clots in stool seem apparently unrelated but medical science has the answer for it. Heart infection or "endocarditis" can trigger the immune response to one's own kidneys called "Glomerulonephritis" or more specifically "Mesangiocapillary Glumerulonephritis". This cause the kidneys to leak the proteins through, which in a normal person does not occur. The leakage of proteins cause swelling of face or " Nephrotic syndrome". Passing blood in urine due to the same above mechanism is also common but passing blood in stools is not. The plausible explanation to this is either dysentery caused by some kinds of bacteria that seldom involve the heart as a rare complication, and secondly patients with cancer of the large intestine is rarely associated by endocarditis caused by the organism called Enterococcus Bovis.
