What Causes Bowel Infection When On Heart Medication?

My wife is 80 years old, had a tripple bypass 22 years ago, is on heart meds: she had surgery on her back about six years ago and due to back and leg pains is taking 6-8 vicadin / day for pain management:...last night she could not sleep well due to stomach pains...got up this am and had a black, smelly, watery stool...cramps in stomach stilll with her but sleeping now after toast and honey ( had black coffee at about 7:30 am...could you please give us some advice ? thank you...husband Leon

Well...Leon ..your wife has a new condition...abdominal pain and black tarry stool...it shows that she is bleeding inside from upper gastrointestinal system...
You better should do some tests like ..CBC,stool for occult blood ,ultrasound abdomenand endoscopy .better consult to a doctor to evaluate her.
