Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last week I noticed that my urine was tinged pink. The next time I urinated it was very slightly pink. Then the next morning it was a normal color and I haven t noticed any changes since. I know that blood in the urine can be a symptom of bladder cancer. Should I be concerned?
Blood in urine could be due to many causes. Urinary tract infection, Bladder polyps, Balder or renal and uretric stones, all can sometimes cause blood in urine. Malignancy is just another cause. You must get your urine routine and bacterial culture and sensitivity test done. An abdominal ultrasound of the kidneys, ureter and bladder is required. If all these are normal, and you persist having blood in urine please consult an Urologist who would do a cysto-urteroscopy.
