Hi, my two year old daughter has some kind of vaginal infection. They doctors think that she might have a uti because there was traces of blood in her urine. They put her on antibiotics and since then her fevers have stopped but the inside of her vagina is still very red and now it seems like its dotted red instead of just being red. Im worried that her father isnt cleaning her properly or something because he just came into her life and since then this is the third infection she has had. She wont eat much at all and is drained from energy because of lack of nutrition. The doctors sent her urine sample for more testing but i was told today that somehow there was probable contamination to the urine so they werent able to test it.
Hi. Firstly blood in urine along with increased pus cells in urine can be indicative of urinary infection. Secondly, as u said her nutrition is improper. This may lead to constipation, which indirectly leads to increased chances of urinary infection. Hence it needs to be corrected with laxatives. Also if perineal hygiene is not maintained it will result in recurrent UTI. With antibiotics, her infection could settle down and her vaginal red spots could resolve. Also with recurrent UTI in female rule out reflux disease. GI for ultrasound KUB to look for renal hydronephrosis or renal scars. If anything found, go for further tests. Kindly stay in touch for firthervadvice after reports.
