Is Blood In Urine Post Gall Bladder Surgery A Cause For Concern?

My 4yr old daughter had her gallbladder removed three days ago and is now complaining of right side and lower stomach pain. They did a urine test. Should I be worry about blood in her urine? General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I'm sorry to hear your 4 years old daughter had her gallbladder removed. Hope the diagnosis was really determining this surgery.

The urine analysis is showing urinary tract infection (UTI). That is normal. This UTI explains the presence of blood in urine plus the pain she is feeling.

An abdominal ultrasound is advised to rule out any possible urinary stone.

Follow the doctor's advice and get the UTI treated with antibiotics and cranberry supplement. Increase fluids intake.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
