Is Blood Stains In Left Nostril A Cause For Concern?

HI! Im 41 years old and male. I woke up this 6 AM with blood stains in my left nostril and in my pillow. This is the first time it happened to me. I had four bottles of beer last night and slept around 12 AM. I m also overweight, 176 lbs at a height of 5 feet and five inches. What should I do? Is it alarming?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for your question.
This is not a concern. It is likely that your nose got dried out from the alcohol (alcohol is dehydrating) and you had a bit of a nosebleed. Don't worry. Use some nasal saline to rehydrate your nose and make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
It should be better soon. If it keeps recurring then see a doctor.
