Is Blood Test Recommended After Taking Enoxaparin For Blood Clots In Lungs?
I ve been taking Enoxaparin 150 mg. shots twice daily for two months and my dr. has never ordered any lab work to check my levels. I started these shots on 8/20/15 after being released from the hospital with blood clots in both lungs following my second total knee replacement surgery this summer. Shouldn t I have blood work done before my scheduled appt. on Nov. 18? Thanks for your help.
Hi there... Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin with very gud safety profile with very less chance of bleeding.. Monitoring with blood reports ( prothrombin time)is usually not necessary for fear of bleeding... U might be switched over to oral anticoagulants soon after ur consultation with ur doctor..after that u will need regular blood reports... Thank u.. Take care

Is Blood Test Recommended After Taking Enoxaparin For Blood Clots In Lungs?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Enoxparin can monitered by blood tests but monitoring is not as common as with the use of the anti coagulant warfarin. Newer anticoagulants are not monitored at all at the moment , this is the reason that they are promoted. You can speak to your doctor about your concerns. I hope this helps
