Hi..I m 43yrs old aND 4 days ago noticed a redish tinge in my Semen. .the night after sex noticed was the same...I left it for a day and now have checked and the colour is now like a merKY slightly brownish colour...I have no pain down there and have checked for lumps but are none...I m getting worried please help
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Brownish semen or appearance of reddish semen could have happened due to mucosal injury resulting in mild bleeding in the genito-urinary tract. You may not worry for now and give some time for it to heal by itself by abstaining from sexual activities for a week. Drink good quantity of fluids during this time. In case it recurs next time, you need to get the following done: 1. Ultrasound of scrotum to look for testis and epididymis. 2. Semen analysis. 3. Urine microscopy. Along with the report, kindly consult Urologist for further evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
