Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Burning Sensation Around The Kidney A Cause For Concern?
I have had a continual history of urinary tract infections. I am 64 years old and have seen a urologist who found my problem (in December 2015) that the opening to the urethra was very narrow. The urologist pried the opening which has given relief in urination. However, the past two weeks, I ve had a burning sensation felt on my left kidney. This would usually come when I had a really bad urinary tract infection. I have no symptoms currently of burning upon urination. Do you think the burning in my kidney is something to be concerned about?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the urinary tract infection then it demands the long term treatment with proper sensitive antibiotic and for that it is most advisable to get done the urine culture sensitivity test, kidney area could be painful burning is very less likely hope this information helps.
