Is Burning Sensation In Chest Caused By An Injury A Matter Of Concern?

I got hit in the chest while playing tennis. It was just to left of sternum which based on internet i believe to be where my heart is located. It hurt quite a bit at the time with a burning sensation. Now 7 hours later I feel ok except for considerable fatigue and an awareness of the injury location. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
As per your explanation of scenario, you should not worry about it. Fatigue and awareness of injury after 7 hours of trauma is considerable. But if you feel discomfort in chest, difficulty in breathing, stabbing or cutting pain in chest or tightness of chest while resting position or physical exertion then you should consult your primary physician as soon as possible.

Thanks & Take Care,
Dr. Suraj D.
