Hello and welcome to HCM,
You can safely get cataract surgery in the eye where cataract has developed.
However, when to get cataract surgery needs to determined by your ophthalmologist.
Cataract surgery is a safe surgery with return of good vision after surgery.
You will benefit with return of fairly good vision in the cataractous eye.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your ophthalmologist and discuss when the surgery can be safely performed.

Thanks and take care
