Is Catheter Ablation Advisable For Mild Atrial Fibrillation?

I have afib. I am on metoprolol Succ ER 50 mg bid. I carried a monitor 48 hrs with no afib. I went to my MDs had a EKG done and I was in Afib with HR of 110. BP 138/90. I do not get Afib on a regular basis and my quality of life is not effected. I fell that I am being pushed into having the procdure. I have read that success is 40 - 70 % and the risk of stroke is not gone. I am a male in good shape 173lbs. 5 11 64 years . What do you think?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If atrial fibrillation is mild, you can very well go with medical management and no need for intervention like catheter ablation.

You can consult a cardiologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
