Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my wife have recently tested positive for Chlamydia and both of us have been given antibiotics to treat it. I know that first thing to do is accuse someone of cheating but I know 100% that none of us did such a thing. Both of us had no sexual partners or even activity before we got married. My wife have recently started working in a lab and part of her job is to receive specimens. She admitted to doing that without using gloves which is A NO NO. Is there a possibility that she got infected from direct contact with contaminated fluids in a specimen? like if she have an open cut in her finger or hand?
Yes it is possible to get a infection by blood transmission. It happens sometimes in laboratory. Finally end with 'Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help". For Follow up questions, end with "If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish you good health".
