Is Chronic Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps Due To Food Poisoning?
My husband and I recently returned from a week in Arizona for a wedding. On the flight home I experienced stomach cramps, belching, and a headache. This came back again 2 days later. My husband got very sick the night that we got home from the trip this week and had severe vomiting that occurred in 3 different episodes about 4 hours apart. He was sick again 2 nights later only this time it was severe diarrhea. Could it be food poisoning? He still cannot eat food, only Gatorade. Thank you.
Many people notice food poisoning when one is eating outside or eating food that may not be hygienic.
Here are a few things that can help with food poisoning- 1. Drinking cold water or cold milk 2. Drinking lots of water 3. Using oral rehydration solution 4. Taking a BRAT diet that can help calm the stomach. BRAT stands for bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast 5. Getting good amount of rest.
Seeing a doctor in case the symptoms persist would be a good idea.
I hope this helps. All the best.
