Is Chronic Pain Around The Knees, Lower Back And Shoulders Due To Arthritis?

I just turned 60 years old. I have always been active, was a basketball player as a young man, playe d;lots of tennis until 40 s, now golf, running, stationery bike, etc. Recently had sudden onset pain in left knee. Started behind the knee, eventually all over knee and upper thigh. Cannot run. Wearing a sock brace, can elliptical, bike, walk. Lots of soreness and stiffness. Xrays negative for anything other than normal arthritic changes. Now lots of aches and pains in both knees, legs, also some degree of stiffness and soreness in shoulders and lower back (no known injury). Is this just sudden onset of arthritis? Is this normal (I feel like I went from physically fit to broken down in 6 weeks).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that you may be showing signs of early stages of osteoarthritis. As you have already got your XRays done I would advise you to get a few blood tests done. They are CRP , ESR and RA Factor. Meanwhile I would advise you to take a calcium rich diet including milk , green leafy vegetables . You can also take a good calcium supplement. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and an exercise regime like 30 mins of brisk walking everyday. This will help to maintain the joint mobility and strengthen your leg muscles. If the pain is severe you can take a mild painkiller like aceclofenac. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic
