Is Coconut Water Advisable For A Pre Diabetic Person?
I have been diagnosed as pre diabetic. My question is I drink coconut water and noticed that it has 12g of sugar. It is clear liquid to my understanding is that is can reverse the affects of diabetes. Is this true or should I get rid of it. I do drink reqular water and take CO Q10 every morning. Please advise. I am getting mixed answers. Thank you Karen Keener
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Yes natural coconut water is advisable to a pre-diabetic person, but it would not be revert the action of development of diabetes. Natural coconut water contains only 2-3 g of sugar per 100 ml. The one you are drinking should contain added sugar. Therefore the quantity of sugar is 12 g. You can drink this but in limited quantity. As per your query, Pre-diabetic condition is reversible condition & you could stop its progression to diabetes. You should increase use daily exercise regimen. Daily half an hour walking or cycling is good. Increase foods such as raw vegetables & fruits, whole grains, fiber rich foods, etc. Decrease the intake of sugars & sugar rich fruits such as grapes, mangoes etc.
Refer to a physician Hope this information helps
