Is Colistroma The Reason For The Pain In The Ear?

Hi,doctor my wife have a ear problem she was feeling pain in her ear we are gating treatment since last two months we had done blood sugar test x-ray and CT Scan now doctors had advice for a major operation because they r saying that there is a colistroma in outer part of ear ,sir if u want that i give u reports will u advice what is better other than operation or any of your panel doctor give me time to visit u with all reports, i am presently in karachi. Thanks waiting of your reply

Hello!
well that's a result of chronic ear infection. I always recommend to patients with cholestoma to remove it surgically.
But before the surgery, it is advised to have a 'dry ear'. That means that the ear should be free from an active infection.
I highly recommend to consult an ENT specialist to get the cholestoma removed.
The doctors will advice antibiotics for at least one week and then go for the surgery.
