Is Colpyoscopy Needed While Having Hpv 14 High Risk For Cervical Cancer?

HI, my name is Adrianna. I just found out I have hpv 14 high risk for cervical cancer. Is it necessary for me to get a colpyoscopy done asap, or do I need to wait. I have no job, or the finances to get it done. I don't qualify for Obama Care, nor do I qualify for Medicaid/Medicare.

Thanks for contacting HCM. You are concerned about recent discovery of having HPV. The doctors have recommended that you have a colposcopy and you are concerned if you could wait before undergoing colposcopy. HPV can cause cervical cancer and a colposcopy is used to take biopsies and treat the HPV. You can hold off on the scope for a few months but I would not recommend waiting much longer.
