General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because the burning sensation came back after you broke the bone at the side of the foot, very likely the nerve that passes in that area is pinched by the fracture.

You may use ibuprofen in high doses and try to use a splint or a brace to limit the movements of the foot to prevent further damage until you see the surgeon.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
