Is Constant Burping In A 11 Year Old Child A Concern?
My 11yr old has been burping and clearing his throat since for 5 days. Clearing his throat specially at night. I thought it was sinus drainage because of the bad air quality we had the past week. but the burping is what is worrying me. He can t stop burping. Should I take this serious or wait a few more days to see what happens.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, continuous burping in children should be investigated for stomach problems. So better to consult gastroenterologist and get done clinical examination, ultrasound examination of abdomen and upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy. Common causes are HPylori infection, hiatus hernia, severe gastritis etc. So consult gastroenterologist and discuss all these. If all the reports are normal then stress and anxiety related burping is the likely cause in him. So first rule out abdominal causes for his symptoms. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
