However, other causes like decreased mobility and electrolyte disturbance like low potassium can also cause decreased gut motility. If you are still feeling no urge, it s better to get consulted with your primary surgeon and get bowel sounds examined and stool softeners and motility agents may be continued. Castor oil drops or lactulose may be used too. Glycerine suppositories may help with decreasing discomfort or hard defecation after relief of constipation.
