Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been trying to go 30 days without any alcohol and am having constipation issues. I am a 40 yr old fit women who always drinks 3 L water daily, eats kale/yogurt smoothies for breakfast, plenty of nuts/fruits, and eats no gluten. I do drink diet soda. I have always been very regular with the exception of realizing 2 years ago that energy drinks constipate me predictably (so I avoid them). Does the alcohol cleanse have anything to do with this?
It is not related to alcohol. As a first line management, you can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
